The Summit Motel is one of the many members of Golden Chain Motor Inns a group formed by independently owned accommodation properties to establish a national accommodation "chain of excellence".

In line with this charter of excellence the Golden Chain group has established yet another first for the accommodation industry. Recognising the need to protect our precious environment Golden Chain has introduced an environmental awareness program, encouraging all member properties to introduce a range of environmentally friendly projects to save our valuable resources. Participating properties commit to the implementation of a range of initiatives related to energy management, waste management and water management.

Having introduced a range of environmentally friendly programs in each of these fields the Summit Motel has been accredited and proudly displays the symbol of the green and golden bell frog (Litoria Auria), an enangered species, chosen as symbol of the fragility of our environment and our commitment to play our part in its protection.
